Our Story

Simply church originated out of the need to help hurting people in our community. The very essence of Christ coming to earth was to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). As believers of Christ, we are instructed to love one another regardless of color, creed, or financial status. Our chore belief is that we are disciples of Christ, and our mission is to go beyond the mortar walls of the local church to reach those who are hopeless and in despair. We are required to make disciples of all nations and we will achieve these goals only by the help and grace of GOD. We best describe our mission as SIMPLY CHURCH!

We value the Lordship of Jesus Christ!

We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

We value Bible-centered Preaching and Teaching!

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative WORD. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.

We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.

We value Evangelism and World Missions!

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.

We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.

Bishop Robert Hickman

Senior Pastor

Bishop Robert Hickman was born in Crofton, Kentucky. He is a GRADUATE of CHRISTIAN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL and later he attended KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY where he received an ASSOCIATE DEGREE in INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING and a BACHELOR’S DEGREE in MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING. Although these professional degrees are important, most satisfaction has come from attending Weinbrenner Seminary in Findlay, Ohio where Bishop Hickman pursued a MASTER’S DEGREE in THEOLOGY.

In 2007 he became Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Ministries in Lima, Senior Pastor of Freedom Life Ministries Piqua in 2011 and Freedom Life Ministries (Simply Church) in 2025. Bishop Hickman has often used the statement that he doesn’t feel no way tired because we must preach the gospel to all nations. We must work diligently while it is still day for night is surely coming!

Pauline Hickman

Assistant Pastor

Pastor Pauline Hickman was on of 15 children born in Moreland, Kentucky. Her parents were William and Beatrice McCormack who taught her Christian values and the importance of trusting God in difficult situations. Pauline learned how to persevere in difficult situations having to learn how to make do when resources were limited and to personally witness that God does provide. Pauline GRADUATED from STANFORD HIGH SCHOOL, and she went on to obtain a BACHELOR’S DEGREE in education from CUMBERLAND COLLEGE and later a MASTER’S DEGREE in SPECIAL EDUCATION from Bowling Green State University. Pastor Pauline was called into ministry and ordained in 2012. She has led several women and focus groups throughout her ministry. She is a dynamic preacher and is labeled as a great storyteller when teaching and preaching the Gospel.
